I got today my first assignment as new member of the N.O.
A few days ago, I was asked by phone if they could count on my participation concerning the electioncongress of Vlaams Belang.
And now, this day finally has arrived !
While the political '0110'-concerts were taking place in Antwerp, Brussels and Ghent, Vlaams Belang holded their electioncongress at Antwerp for the last straight line towards the coming muncipal elections of october 8.
Congress speakers included the VB-politicians Filip Dewinter, Marie-Rose Morel and Frank Vanhecke.
The coming muncipal elections will be the first electoral test for Vlaams Belang after the political correct adversaries killed the former Vlaams Blok (= Flemisch Block), condemned to be disbanded as result of a political setup trial.
We were hoping on more than 2000 visitors and indeed, more than 2000 people were present.
In fact, it was such a succes that there weren't even enough seats to offer !
As member of the guardservice, I took position at the entrance of the complex.
There weren't any incidents to report. The whole happening went all smoothly.
The police of Antwerp, allready their hands full with the political correct '0110'-concert in their city, could relax that everything was under control at the electioncongress.
They stood in contact with our responsible man behind the Vlaams Belang-security, Luc Vermeulen.
Many visitors appreciated the feel of safety we offered.
