This sunday, the greatest Flemish political party Vlaams Belang (= 'Flemish Interest') held her national election congress to close the 'Vlaamse Kracht-campaign' (= 'Flemish Power') in the last run up toward the elections of the 10th of june 2007.
The congress was held at the Stadsschouwburg theatre in Antwerp.
Congress speakers were the heavyweight politicians Filip De Winter, Anke Van dermeersch, Gerolf Annemans and president of Vlaams Belang : Frank Vanhecke.
Because I was part of the internal security, I didn't have the opportunity to listen to the different public speeches but I knew already from the very start of the congress that this day couldn't be something other than a big succes.
The amount of people that came was really impressive.
I have runned duty from 12h30 P.M. tot 6h30 P.M.
I began my guardduty in the underground parking of the building complex where I was stationed at a sidedoor.
This sidedoor served for entering a lot of expensive audiovisual material into the building and until all the material was delivered I stayed there.
When everything was unloaded, this door was closed from the inside and I helped to escort the many visitors from the busses toward the theatre complex were the congress would take place.
This done, I took guardposition at the entrance of the building and directly after the congress was finished again escorting visitors toward their busses.
Finally, I also helped with the cleaning up and loading material.
